A Bay Area medical alliance is expanding into the North Bay. Canopy Health has announced a partnership with Providence to add nearly 500 medical providers to Canopy’s network. That would include the hospitals of Santa Rosa Memorial, Petaluma Valley, Healdsburg and Napa’s Queen of the Valley. The state Department of Managed Health Care still needs to approve the expansion. Canopy Heath was founded in 2015 by UCSF Health and John Muir Health and now has 50,000 members. Canopy CEO Mike Robinson tells the Press Democrat that their aim is to become an alternative to Kaiser Permanente in “cost, affordability and member experience.”
