CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In May, Carrington Economic Development Department (CEDD) was awarded a $22,500 grant as part of the ND Department of Commerce Main Street Initiative “Partners in Planning.”

The grant funds are being used to develop a “Main Street Revitalization Plan” that will help Carrington develop goals and tactics to revitalize Main Street and recruit/retain a sustainable workforce in the community.

Over the next several months, the planning process will include surveys, individual and group meetings with businesses, data collection, market research and community engagement. The goal is to develop a plan that includes realistic and attainable strategies to help revitalize Main Street, and to retain/recruit employees in Carrington.

Business and Commercial Property Owners Invited to Take Survey

One of the first steps in the planning process is a Community Business Survey. Our business community is critical to the success of our City! To help identify needs, issues, challenges, successes and opportunities, all business and commercial property owners are encouraged to take a short (5-10 minute) online survey at:

Survey responses will remain anonymous. The survey will be available through July 29.

Carrington Chamber & Economic Development Corp. will also be holding focus groups and one-on-one discussions on these topics later this year. Any resident or business interested in participating in a future focus group can email chambergal@daktel.com or marty.doll@ae2s.com
