Austin Trout defeated Florin Cardos by decision on Friday in Germany.

Las Cruces boxer Austin Trout picked up his fourth consecutive win in the ring, beating Romanian fighter, Florin Cardos, in an eight-round fight in Germany at 154 pounds on Friday.

Trout was the main event on Friday's Legacy International Boxing Series show in Wuppertal, Germany. He won a 79-73, 76-76, 78-76 majority decision on the scorecards.

The four fight win streak matches Trout's longest stretch of victories since he won four straight between August 2014 and September 2015.

Trout, who currently lives and trains in Houston, Texas, improved to 35-5-1 with 18 knockout victories. Cardos dropped to 21-4.

Trout was the more active fighter on Friday, establishing his jab while never taking any significant damage from Cardos.

"It's been almost a year since I last fought," Trout said in his postfight interview. "The ring rust, I felt it. I didn't feel as sharp as I should have been, but it was sharp enough so I'm happy with the outcome.

"I'm trying to go get another world title. If I get a fight in the next two months, you will see a different person."
