SUBLETTE COUNTY – Artists from Sublette County and beyond have the opportunity to show their artwork in a variety of mediums at the annual Sublette County Fair’s Lynn Thomas Memorial Art Show. This special show, in honor of well-known Sublette County artist Lynn Thomas, has always been a popular event for fair attendees.
The show opens on July 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the fairgrounds Community Hall near Marbleton, Wyo. Hours on July 28 and July 29 are also from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, July 30, the show opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.
Visitors will have a chance to “Meet and Greet” the artists on Saturday, July 30, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. as the show closes.
There are two special exhibits this year. A theme show, “Barns in Sublette County,” will commemorate Sublette County's upcoming Centennial. Artists may submit artwork depicting the county's barns from the past 100 years. A winner from this category will be chosen by the Sublette County Centennial Committee.
Artists may also enter 6-inch x 6-inch gallery wrapped paintings. These pieces will have a set price of $99.
Show director Sharon Schell of Big Piney, Wyo., announced that there will be awards for first, second, and third among the pieces exhibited as well as the “Director’s Choice” award.
