Wright was also charged on a prior assault and battery warrant issued out by the Boston Municipal Court-Central Division, according to authorities.
On Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., Transit Police said they responded to a report of a man assaulting other passengers on board a Red Line at the MBTA’s JFK station. Upon arrival, officers were met by several victims and witnesses who said the man, believed to be Wright, threatened and then ultimately physically assaulted four people while the train was traveling northbound between Ashmont and JFK.
The witnesses told police that Wright struck passengers with closed fists, kicked them and threw a metal bottle in what was described as an unprovoked attack, according to authorities.
Officers located Wright on the opposite platform, where he was identified as the offending male, police said. Wright was placed into custody and transported to the Transit Police Department headquarters for the arrest booking process.
