Police in northwest Kansas alert public to utility payment scam

NORTON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a scam in northwest Kansas. According to a social media report from Norton Police, citizens have received automated telephone calls, threatening that the City of Norton will shut off power if you do not provide payment within the next 30 minutes.

This is an obvious scam. Please reminded residents the City of Norton will never send out automated telephone calls regarding utility payments.
