The next challenger for Impact World Champion Josh Alexander will be determined on next Thursday's Impact on AXS TV with two unlikely opponents: Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley.

After the Motor City Machine Guns teamed with Alexander on this week's show against Violent By Design, Impact VP Scott D'Amore met them in the back where Chris Sabin said he was hungry for the title. D'Amore said that both were hungry for it and set up the no. 1 contender's bout for next Thursday.

The winner will challenge Alexander at August 12th's Emergence.

The X-Division Championship will be on the line as "Speedball" Mike Bailey defends against Violent By Design's Deaner. Bailey was backstage doing a promo, talking about last week's backstage attack by VBD. He said if Deaner wanted a title shot, all he needed to do was ask.

The build toward the Knockouts title match at Emergence begins next Thursday as champion Jordynne Grace teams with top challenger Mia Yim against former champions Deonna Purrazzo & Chelsea Green.

Next Thursday's matches will be taped this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. Here's next week's current lineup:

  • Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley no. 1 contender's match
  • X-Division Champion Mike Bailey defends against Deaner
  • Mia Yim & Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Deonna Purrazzo & Chelsea Green
