UFC Fight Night: Welshman Jack Shore's unbeaten record ended by Ricky Simon
Welsh bantamweight Jack Shore suffered his first career loss as he was beaten by Ricky Simon of the United States at UFC Fight Night in Long Island, New York
Simon stopped Shore in the second round having controlled the fight from the start.
The American's fifth win in a row saw Shore suffer his first loss in UFC following five victories
It was also the first defeat in of his 17-fight professional career.
Simon was one spot above the Abertillery fighter in the UFC's bantamweight rankings ahead of the fight.
Simon rocked Shore with a right hand which caused the Welshman to stumble, with the American then applying an arm-triangle submission for the victory.
Simon took to calling out unbeaten Sean O'Malley in his post-fight inteview.
"O'Malley, the Sugar show is over," Simon said. "I'm the sweetest thing in this bantamweight division."
In the main event on the main card, featherweight Yair Rodriguez beat Brian Ortega by first round stoppage and in the co-main event Amanda Lemos beat fellow strawweight Michelle Waterson by submission.
