Red Cliff- Farm Stand Fridays are back at the Red Cliff Tribal Farm and will run through October. The Farm Stand is open to everyone and is what they call a “Slide Scale Contribution System”, meaning people just pay what they can. The Farm believes that food is medicine and everyone should have access to fresh, healthy and local foods. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Effie, MN- MnDOT is updating drivers on road work on Highway 1 east Effie. Work will start Monday, July 18 with culvert replacement near Deer Lake. In addition to the culvert replacement and repair, they hope to improve safety. Work will extend to Hwy 65 which will also see additional construction later this month. Travelers along Highway 1 will see flaggers throughout the project as well as single-lane closures. The project is expected to be complete by November.

National Forest- This week is the 4th annual National Forest week! The US Forest Service in partnership with the National Forest Foundation are hosting the week to celebrate the country’s forests and grasslands. Part of the celebration includes a photo contest. The theme is “See Your Somewhere” and categories for submission are landscape, recreation and youth photographers. Submissions are due Sunday, July 17.
