The Arizona Coyotes were quite busy in the transaction department on Wednesday.

Arizona announced that it had acquired defenseman Patrik Nemeth and two draft picks from the New York Rangers while sending defenseman Ty Emberson back east to the Metropolitan Division.

The draft selections the Coyotes received were a 2025 second-round pick and a conditional 2026 second-rounder.

Nemeth, 30, is going into his 11th NHL season after being drafted No. 41 overall in 2010 by the Dallas Stars.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound blueliner posted 2-5-7 with 28 penalty minutes for the Rangers in 63 regular-season games before appearing in five Stanley Cup Playoff contests last season.

Nemeth has totaled 10-55-65 and 210 PIM in his 429 career games with the Stars (2013-17), Colorado Avalanche (2017-19, 2020-21), Detroit Red Wings (2019-21) and Rangers (2021-22).

Emberson was drafted by the Coyotes in the third round (No. 73 overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

The 22-year-old defenseman has yet to make his NHL debut, but did record 5-7-12 in 63 AHL games for the Tucson Roadrunners from 2020-22.

Arizona’s busy Wednesday also included making four free-agent signings.

The Coyotes signed forward Nick Bjugstad to a one-year contract, defenseman Josh Brown to a two-year contract and defenseman Troy Stecher to a one-year contract.

Additionally, the team signed forward Laurent Dauphin to a one-year, two-way contract.
