Racing at Paragon Speedway highlight things to do in Morgan, Owen counties this weekend

As July's midpoint quickly arrives, families are already beginning to prepare for the next school year.

However, there are still a few weeks of summer break left and families and other locals will be looking for things to do this weekend throughout Morgan and Owen counties.

McCormick's Creek State Park

McCormick's Creek State Park will conduct several events this weekend at the park located near Spencer.

At 10:30 a.m. Friday, the park will host Fire Tower Yoga, which will allow folks to learn about the park's fire tower. Those wishing to participate are asked to meet at the Canyon Inn.

Events at the park continues Saturday with Backyard Birds at 10 a.m. Saturday, which will allow members of the family to watch local birds be fed at the park's nature center.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, the park will host Camo Critters Hike which will begin at the park's nature center. 

The park will also host Sun Painting at 1 p.m. Saturday at the park's nature.

Sisters Brew at Foxcliff Golf Club

Foxcliff Golf Club, 1970 Mapleturn Rd., Martinsville, will host live music at 6 p.m. Friday with Sisters Brew.

Morgan County news: RDC trying to map areas that have no access to broadband internet.

The concert is free and friendly for guests of all ages, but concert-goers are asked to bring their own seating.

Hoosier Que will be on site with food and drinks.

Maple Grove Market

Sweet Corn Festival

Maple Grove Market, 6435 Maple Grove Road Martinsville, will host its Sweet Corn Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Owen County Fair: Rice, Feltner are big winners at annual sheep show.

The event is free and includes live entertainment, a car show, antique tractors as well as bounce house.

Amati Classic 68 Laps

The annual Amati Classic 68 Laps will return Saturday to the Paragon Speedway, 8486 Old State Road 67, Paragon.

This weekend's event includes 410 sprints, modifieds, bombers and hornets.
