CINCINNATI — UC head football coach Luke Fickell collected plenty of hardware following the historic 2021 season and he just got named to a preseason watch for an award he's about to defend in 2022.
Fickell is one of 20 head coaches named to the Dodd Trophy preseason watchlist. The list was put together by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and the Peach Bowl. They built the list using factors like academics, projected success, and the coach's charitable work in the community. Cincinnati was the only AAC school to land a coach on the list.
With a 48-15 record across five seasons at UC, Fickell needs just needs to get bowl eligible this fall and he'll pass Rick Minter (53-63) for the most wins in program history.
