Kansas man dies after rear-end truck crash and fire

STANTON COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Monday in Stanton County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chevy truck driven by Dennis Duwayne Davis, 57, Pierceville, Kansas, was westbound on U.S. 160 five miles west of Kansas 27.

The truck rear-ended a 2009 GMC Semi driven by Zachary Alan Wester, 33, Moscow, Kansas, who was slowing to turn onto a service road.  After impact the Chevy truck caught on fire with the driver trapped inside.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson City. Wester  was not injured.  Davis was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
