DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are a matchup headache for secondaries. Only two teams in the NFL had two wide receivers top 1,000 yards last season: the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers.

Even with Rusell Wilson’s departure from Seattle, I still see these two individuals impressing fans with their stats.

Think about it, you’ve got one quick, swift route. runner in Lockett who can make even the best cornerbacks look average. On the other hand, you’ve got a 6’4″ receiver who has breakaway speed, isn’t afraid of contact, and plays with a chip on his shoulder in Metcalf.

From an unbiased standpoint, Metcalf and Lockett are the best wide receiver duo in the league. They are both really smart route runners who know how to get open and make big things happen.

Will The Duo Be Able to Have Success With a New Quarterback?

The answer is yes. Lockett and Metcalf will have success no matter who is under center. They always find ways to get open and make “impossible” catches.

These guys know how to read coverages, study intense film, and exploit defenses. I see them both as viable Fantasy Football picks. Will they be consistently crushing the competition week by week? Maybe not. But odds are, one of them is going to go off in any given game.

Final Thought

Although many have speculated that the Seahawks should trade Metcalf away for draft capital or trade value, I believe he needs to remain a Seahawk. Without Metcalf, you’re. left with only Lockett who will still perform well, but it’s just not the same without these two together.

Keep a close eye on the Seahawks’ incredible duo this year because they are bound to make a statement that they can still be a successful organization without Russell Wilson.
