Celtic have two brilliant options up front right now in the form of Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis. The Japanese striker arrived from Vissel Kobe last summer and has taken Scottish football by storm, playing a key part in the Hoops’ Premiership as well as League Cup triumph. On the other hand, the Greek striker made a poor start to life at Parkhead but came into his own in the second half of the campaign, and showed why he had topped the Eredivisie scoring charts.

For all their brilliance, both Kyogo and Giakoumakis have a problem though and that is the fact that neither of them has been able to remain fit for any considerable length of time, and that could turn to be a worry for Ange Postecoglou.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that Celtic have been linked with a move for another striker this summer, especially if Albian Ajeti completes a Parkhed exit.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Jordan Larsson recently, which is unsurprising considering what his father achieved during his time at Parkhead, and it appears that the Hoops have made contact for the Swedish international. Anthony Joseph tweeted out:

The rumours surrounding Celtic and Larsson do seem to be picking up some steam and as tweeted out by Ekrem Konur, the Hoops plan to make a three year offer to him.

Larsson is currently a free agent after the termination of his contract with Spartak Moscow. He is coming off of a disappointing campaign as well, but it would be a mistake ton forget how good he can be when on top of his game. He was linked with Celtic last summer as well but back then he was rated at around £15 million.

He had enjoyed an incredible 2020/21 season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Larsson had scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists in 29 Russian Premier Liga appearances that season.

Thus, if Celtic are able to sign him, there is enough cause for excitement. Just the thought of a Larsson pulling on the Hoops again should be enough for goosebumps.
