Open House Planned For Western Park Ice Rink And Amphitheater Renovation
Have you heard that upgrades are in store for the Western Park ice rink and amphitheater? If you’d like to take a close look at the plans in store then you’re in luck. An open house is planned for next month during which the public is invited to view the plans and get an update on the upcoming construction project. The Uintah County Commission gave final approval for the construction plans for the project a month ago during their December 27th meeting. Upgrades to the ice rink and amphitheater were in exploration and planning stages for much of 2022. The over $7 million dollars needed for the projects are coming from ARPA funds awarded to Uintah County, meaning no local tax dollars are involved. The Public Open House will be held at the Western Park on Monday, February 13th, from 4 to 6pm.

Giants Spotted Around Vernal As Author Recruits For His League Of Giants
Author and speaker Nicholas Townsend Smith was all over Vernal yesterday, busy recruiting for his League of Giants. During one of his book readings at the Uintah County Library on Thursday evening he described a time in his life when he was feeling especially small as life’s challenges were piling up. Thanks to a few key Giants around him he started his growth journey and wrote his book ‘The Giants and the Smalls’ in 2009. The book was published in 2020 and his focus since then has been to spread the message that each individual has Giant potential. The next vision is for the story to be made into a Pixar style movie. More important than that, however, is his vision to see this world become a world of Giants, that is a world of people living their best life. Smith enjoyed time on Thursday at the Ashley Valley Education Center, Uintah County Jail, and Uintah County Library. He’ll be at events today at the Springhill Suites and Innovation Hub. Learn more about his mission at GiantsAndSmalls.com.
