RAY CITY, Ga. (WALB) -Two people have died following a shooting Thursday in Ray City, according to Chief Deputy Stryde Jones with the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. in a camper on Courtney Way.

The sheriff’s office requested the GBI Douglas Office to investigate the deaths.

A release from the GBI said preliminary information shows that Lanier County deputies responded to a domestic dispute at the camper. While approaching the camper, Lisa Revello, 54, opened the door and someone inside the camper shot her, the release says.

As the deputies took cover, another gunshot was heard coming from inside the camper.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team responded to assist, entered the camper, and found Mark Joiner, 54, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The GBI said Revello and Joiner were in a relationship, living in the camper.

The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon is scheduled to conduct autopsies on Revello and Joiner.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
