In July 1967, more than 200 women attended the second annual "Status of Women" conference at the Oklahoma state Capitol. In her welcome address, Oklahoma First Lady Ann Bartlett told the group, "I think one of the biggest barriers in improving the status of women is women themselves. Many simply are not aware of the potential of women as a collective group." This photo was published July 8, 1967, in the Oklahoma City Times.
