The Meeker Homestead Museum is located at 2690 Stratford Rd. in Delaware County.

The Delaware County Historical Society will reopen its Meeker Homestead Museum

On Sunday, the historical society will debut a new exhibit called "The Journey to Delaware County," which explores the lives of early settlers in Delaware County.

Located at 2690 Stratford Road in Delaware, the exhibit will have interactive displays and show how pioneers came "West" in the 1800s. It will also break down why they came to Delaware as well as first-person accounts of their lives at the time.

The Meeker Museum will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and then from 1-4 p.m. the first Sunday of each month after that.

The new exhibit isn't the only thing visitors can see. American Indian artifacts will be on display as well as the Delaware Chair Company display, Stratford Mill Town exhibit, the spinning exhibit and more.

The Delaware County Historical Society is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting, preserving and sustaining interest in the history of Delaware County. It is able to debut the new exhibit for free because of the Delaware County Foundation and donations from the Ron Sabatino Family Fund, as well as the Charles H. and Betty J. Sheets Family Donor Advised Fund.
