A wet/dry vote could be coming to Clinton County

A wet/dry vote could be coming to Clinton County.

According to the Clinton County News, a local citizen has filed a letter of intent with the county clerk’s office noting that she intends to gather signatures on a petition that would call for a vote this November to allow the sale of alcohol.

Clinton County is just one of 15 counties in Kentucky that is still dry, or prohibits the sale of alcohol in any manner.

In order to make it on the ballot this fall, the petition will need to be turned in by Sept. 9 and contain 1,070 valid signatures.

The sale of alcohol is legalized in some form in each of Clinton’s neighboring counties.
