A man is in custody after being accused of threatening people with a bow and arrow and a machete in Luther.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office said it all started with an argument over a kitchen appliance. Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies lined the stretch of North Dobbs Road on Wednesday after an unusual call.
"Somebody complaining that someone was trying to shoot someone else with a bow and arrow, at one point, the call hung up, and we called back," said Aaron Brilbeck, OCSO.
KOCO 5 was told the suspect picked up a machete and stabbed a man at the house.
"This is kind of boyfriend-girlfriend splitting up thing. Apparently, what they were fighting over, what led up to the stabbing with a machete, was a dispute over a refrigerator," Brilbeck said.
KOCO 5 was told the victim who was stabbed had minor injuries and did not go to the hospital. However, the rampage kept going and one of the victim’s cars was badly damaged.
"The machete is broken, apparently it was broken trying to damage the vehicle," Brilbeck said.
Then, the suspect ran away.
"We were told the gentleman had run from the building was out in the woods," Brilbeck said.
The sheriff’s office said the man was not intoxicated in any way, with no drugs or alcohol in his system. KOCO 5 was told he’d be booked into jail Wednesday night but charges will come later.
"As soon as we pulled up, he came out and surrendered without incident," Brilbeck said.
