Police: Teen dies after head-on collision with semi-truck on River Road
Police are investigating a crash that left one teenager dead Wednesday. According to the Fairfield Township Police Department, just after 4 p.m. officers responded to a two-car crash with an entrapment in the 7400-block of River Road. Upon arrival to the scene, Fairfield firefighters discovered a blue 2009 Toyota Corolla struck a semi-truck head-on, officials said. The collision threw the Toyota off the side of the road. The driver of the Toyota was identified as a 16-year-old boy from Colerain Township, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release the victim’s name. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured, police said. According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the Toyota was traveling eastbound around a curve between U.S. 27 and Georgetown Road. The Toyota went left of center as it came around a curve and struck the semi, traveling west bound, head-on.A toxicology report is pending an autopsy by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. The crash is being investigated by the Fairfield Township Police Department and the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team. Upon arrival to the scene, Fairfield firefighters discovered a blue 2009 Toyota Corolla struck a semi-truck head-on, officials said. The collision threw the Toyota off the side of the road.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as a 16-year-old boy from Colerain Township, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not release the victim’s name.

The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured, police said.
