UFC London goes down in a few weeks on July 23rd and England’s Darren Till (18-4-1) was set to compete in the co-main event. The Gorilla was set to take on Jack Hermansson (22-7) as he attempts to start climbing back up the ladder at 185.

However, his return is going to have to wait. ESPN broke the news earlier this evening that Till has been forced to withdraw from UFC London due to injury. At this time, it’s not known what the injury is or the severity of the injury.

The only thing that we know for sure is that Till is off the UFC London card. Having to withdrawal due to injury is nothing new for Till unfortunately. After losing to Robert Whittaker back in 2020, Till has had a horrible stretch of luck with injuries.

Counting this fight, Till has now pulled out of three UFC events since the end of 2020. This is now the second time that Till has had to pull out of a fight with Jack Hermansson. Once the UFC got the news, they began searching for a replacement and they found one.

UFC London’s New Matchup

Stepping in for the injured Darren Till will be “The Action Man” Chris Curtis (29-8). What an absolute run it’s been for Chris Curtis inside the octagon. Back in 2019, Curtis contemplated retirement after two losses in one night in the PFL.

However, Curtis kept pushing forward and he won five straight fights. Those wins earned him a shot in the UFC and he hasn’t disappointed. So far, he’s 3-0 inside the octagon with wins over Phil Hawes, Brendan Allen, and Rodolfo Vieira.

While still not ranked, Curtis is knocking on the door. Now, he gets the biggest fight of his career. He will step in there with eighth ranked Jack Hermansson. If Curis can come in and pick up the win, he’s going to be in the UFC rankings and will have huge fights ahead.
