A convicted felon on probation was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a drug-related shooting Friday that left one victim in critical condition.
The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings (TITANS) apprehended 31-year-old Zantaun Horton for the shooting that occurred on 38th Ave. North at John L. Driver Avenue, according to Metro Police.
Horton was seen Tuesday night leaving 305 W. Monticello Ave. and entering a 2021 Dodge Challenger. TITANS detectives stopped the car and arrested Horton near the intersection of Gallatin Pike North and Old Hickory Boulevard.
He was in possession of $1,585 cash, a digital scale and the keys to the residence at 305 W. Monticello.
During the execution of a search warrant at the home, detectives recovered an AR pistol, a .40 caliber pistol reported stolen in Rutherford County, a nine-millimeter pistol, a set of body armor, 102 grams of cocaine laced with fentanyl, 322 grams of meth, multiple digital scales and multiple boxes of ammunition.
Horton was wanted on charges of attempted murder and gun possession by a convicted felon.
Horton refused to be interviewed at police headquarters.
In addition to attempted murder and gun possession by a convicted felon, TITANS detectives charged Horton with seven additional drug and gun counts making his total bond set at $752,000.
Horton was convicted of felony cocaine possession in 2012 with a three-year sentence, felony cocaine possession in 2014 with a nine-year sentence and aggravated assault in 2022 with two-year sentence.
Investigation by Violent Crimes Division Detective Jonathan Watch led to the issuance of the attempted murder warrant for last Friday night’s shooting.
