Georgia Maserati Driver Faces Florida Road Rage Charges

SARASOTA -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers pulled over the driver of a 2015 Maserati Monday after reports of a road rage incident on I-75.

FHP says they received a report that a Georgia man, 74-year-old James Weaver, pointed a firearm at another driver in the northbound lanes near mile marker 182 Tuesday afternoon around lunchtime.

Troopers pulled over the Maserati at mile marker 204. They found a .45 caliber Kimber handgun. FHP says the driver is 74-year-old James R. Weaver, and troopers add that he had four passengers, a man, a woman and four children.

Weaver was booked into the Sarasota County Jail, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
