Colorado State University Updates Hurricane Forecast

More than a month into the Atlantic Hurricane Season and the forecasters at Colorado State University are revising their predictions. The team is updating the June forecast which increased the number of named storms from what they initially predicted in April calling for a well above-average season with 20 named storms, 10 of which could become hurricanes with winds of at least 74 mph. Experts say out of the hurricanes, five of them could be major (Category 3 or higher) with winds of at least 115 mph. Sea surface temperatures across portions of the Atlantic are above normal making conditions ripe for strong systems. Experts say now is the time to prepare if you haven't already.
