The Albany County Sheriff's Office has arrested an 18-year-old man on gun possession charges.
On Tuesday July 5, 2022, while patrolling in the City of Albany, Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Mercedes SUV in the area of First Street and Quail Street for a minor traffic infraction.
Further investigation conducted during the traffic stop revealed that the passenger, Joezier Rozier, 18, was in possession of a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson SD40 VE semi-automatic pistol with a high capacity magazine, which was located in his front waistband of his pants.
He has a prior felony conviction for possessing a loaded firearm in the City of Albany earlier this year.
Roizer was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in Second Degree (a class C Felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class D Felony), and with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (a class A Misdemeanor).
Rozier was transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility as a pre-arraigned detainee and will be arraigned in Albany City Court on Wednesday July 6, 2022.
