BGFD responds to fire at duplex

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A duplex in Bowling Green sustained damage after a fire early Wednesday morning.

Seven units responded to a reported structure fire on Lynnwood Way on July 6 at 12:49 a.m., according to BGFD. Officials stated the caller said that her house was on fire, and she was trying to evacuate with her children before the call disconnected.

Unit E3 arrived on the scene and found a single-story duplex with a fire that extended into the attic space. BGFD stated a response was coordinated on the fire while a search began for any possible victims.

The fire department stated no victims were found in both units of the duplex following searches, and no firefighter injuries were reported.

One person was transported by EMS from the scene shortly after the fire was extinguished.

The cause remains under investigation.
