A Roanoke Rapids woman was charged today with 10 counts of larceny by employee and seven counts of obtaining property by false pretense after the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office says she stole lottery tickets while working as a clerk at a business in Halifax.
Corporal Jeff Barriger filed the counts against 26-year-old Amanda Casandra Wilson after he responded to the business Monday following a larceny by employee call.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall said the larceny counts reflect that 10 tickets were stolen. Wilson cashed in the winning tickets which reflect the obtaining property by false pretense counts.
The larcenies took place over the course of a month. The dollar value of the winning tickets was not immediately known.
Wilson received a $10,000 bond and July 20 court date.
