Search Underway after Accidental Missile Drop

SAN DIEGO - The Navy is searching for missiles which accidentally ended up in the Pacific Ocean.

Two containers holding five missiles dropped into the water back on June 17th after what the military branch is calling a 'rigging failure' on a Nighthawk helicopter. The Navy says the missiles were packaged for shipment and are missing key components so it's unlikely the missiles will detonate or explode, but the Coast Guard is asking civilian boats to stay away from the search area as a precaution.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
