WELL AS THE CHARGES HE’S FACING. KYLIE? KYLIE: KENNETH HUSTON TURNED HIMSELF IN HERE AT DISTRICT COURT IN MONROEVILLE YESTERDAY. THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL NAACP CHAPTER IS ACCUSED OF STEALING FROM THE ORGANIZATION. HUSTON RUNS THE NAACP EAST CHAPTER. ALLEGHENY COUNTY INVESTIGATORS SAY HE TOOK NEARLY $194,000 FROM NAACP FUNDS FOR PERSONAL USE. ALLEGHENY COUNTY POLICE SAY THEY WERE TIPPED OFF BY AN ANONYMOUS LETTER. THIS MORNING, HUSTON TOLD PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS 4 TO DIRECT OUR QUESTIONS TO HIS ATTORNEY, JOEL SANSONE. HIS OFFICE SHARED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT, "WE WERE PRESENTED WITH THE CHARGES AGAINST MR. HUSTON YESTERDAY AND ARE IN THE PROCESS OF INVESTIGATING THIS MATTER. MR. HUSTON HAS BEEN AN ADVOCATE FOR EQUALITY IN OUR COMMUNITY FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO ADDRESSING THESE ALLEGATIONS IN DUE TIME." HUSTON FACES CHARGES INCLUDING THEFT AND ACCESS DEVICE FRAUD. HE WAS RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE YESTERDAY

Kenneth Huston, the president of the local NAACP East chapter, is accused of stealing from the organization. Huston turned himself in at district court in Monroeville Tuesday.The president of the local NAACP chapter is accused of stealing from the organization.Allegheny County investigators say he took nearly $194,000 from NAACP funds for personal use.Allegheny County police say they were tipped off by an anonymous letter.Huston told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 to direct our questions to his attorney, Joel Sansone.His office shared the following statement: "We were presented with the charges against Mr. Huston yesterday and are in the process of investigating this matter. Mr. Huston has been an advocate for equality in our community for several years, and we look forward to addressing these allegations in due time."Huston faces several charges including theft and access device fraud.He was released on his own recognizance Tuesday.
