SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,940. The state had 1,182 new cases and 982 recoveries, increasing active infections to 3,299. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 66.

So far, South Dakota has had 245,705 cases and 239,466 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 36 new cases and 32 recoveries. The county currently has 103 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,525 cases and 10,305 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 58,757 cases, followed by Pennington County with 34,428 and Lincoln County with 15,962, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,785, Brookings with 8,421, Meade with 7,341, Lawrence with 6,892, and Yankton with 6,112.

Statewide 527,970 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 74% of the state).

Brown County has 23,922 receiving at least one shot.
