A Lebanon woman was killed in a crash Tuesday night and at least four others—including two young children—were seriously injured.
The single-car crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Highway 10/Hartsville Road in Macon County.
A preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) shows the driver of an Infiniti sedan was heading southbound on the highway when the vehicle ran off the road and traveled down a steep embankment. The car went airborne then hit the ground and overturned several times.
Troopers say two occupants of the vehicle were ejected.
Kimberly Denny, 54, died from her injuries.
A three-year-old and nine-year-old girl were airlifted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital with severe injuries. The accident report shows the toddler's booster seat was not properly installed and the nine-year-old child was not wearing a seat belt.
A 31-year-old male passenger was also airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle's 27-year-old driver was taken to Macon Community Hospital. THP reports her injuries were moderate.
The accident remains under investigation.
