Dexter man jailed after Mayfield stabbing incident

A Dexter man was jailed after a stabbing incident in Mayfield on Tuesday.

Mayfield police responded to reports of an assault on South 12th Street, where they reportedly found 54-year-old Kelvin Pittman and 35-year-old Timothy Early of Dexter in an altercation.

Early was taken into custody after officers said he tossed a knife into the grass. Pittman was flown to an out-of-state hospital for treatment.

Authorities said Early admitted to stabbing Pittman and he was charged with assault.

He was taken to the Graves County jail.
