Teenage girl’s ex-boyfriend tracks her down, shoots friend, Atlanta police say

ATLANTA — A teenage girl is recovering after she was shot by her friend’s ex-boyfriend on Tuesday night, police say.

Officers say they were flagged down by a pair of teenage girls on Northside Drive at 11:30 p.m.

The 16-year-old was injured during the shooting. She was taken to the hospital and is stable.

Investigators say the 16-year-old and 19-year-old girls were sitting in the car along Metropolitan Pkwy. SW near Pegg Road when the 19-year-old’s ex-boyfriend came up to the car and began shooting at them.

After the suspect opened fire, the teens sped off and found officers along Northside Drive.

Police have not released the suspect’s identity and have not clarified if he has been arrested.

Detectives say their investigation is ongoing.
