Paris, Tenn.–If you live close to Kentucky Lake and heard a loud bang on the 4th of July, it may have been Country Legend Hank Williams Jr. setting off his Civil War cannon.
Williams has a bit of a tradition–and we know he knows a lot about traditions, especially a “Family Tradition”–of shooting off the cannon to celebrate Independence Day.
In an article in “Taste of Country”, Williams said, “Yeah, it makes a big noise when it goes off. It makes a big noise — that’s a real boom when that goes off. Firecrackers my a–.”
Williams said he has a federal permit for the cannon. “I’m in west Tennessee. I got a permit from a United States federal judge. You wanna talk permits — I ain’t no county mounty! Mine is federal.”
