Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking can be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com or mailed to Briefly Speaking, 210 Wood St., Tarentum, PA 15084. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Art

• Greensburg Art Center will host the exhibit, “Plein Air 15601,” from July 9 to Aug. 26 at the center, 230 Todd School Road. An opening reception will be from 6 to p.m. July 9. The exhibit will feature art by local artists of shops, landmarks, neighborhoods and parks located in the 15601 zip code. Café Art will be from 2 to 4 p.m. July 24 and will feature a plein air demonstration. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Church news

• Greensburg Church of the Brethren will host a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St. Dinner is included. Participants must be accompanied by a family member or caregiver. Donations will be accepted.

• A yard sale will be held rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 9 at Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, 353 Bridgeport Road, Mt. Pleasant.

Fundraisers

• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. July 7 and 21 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board and $1 for quickies. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.

• A super bingo will be July 8 at Marian Hall at St. Bartholomew Church, 2538 Route 119, Crabtree. Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Firehouse Subs will be available at 5 p.m. for takeout. Details: 724-834-0709.

• Hutchinson Volunteer Fire Department will host a community day celebration beginning at 6 p.m. July 9 at the firehall, 261 Fire Hall Ave. There will be a craft and vendor show, a basket auction, food vendors, games, cash drawings and a fireworks display at 10 p.m. Junior Guthrie and the Push will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.

• Community Church of Hecla, 537 Hecla Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a turkey dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. July 9 at the church. Dine in or takeout. Details and takeout orders: 724-396-8065 or 724-244-2586.

• Wreaths Cross America of North Huntingdon will host a motor show from 3 to 9 p.m. July 9 at Word of Life Church, 4497 Route 136, Hempfield. Vehicle fee: $10; spectator admission, free. • A paint and dip party will be at 6 p.m. July 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fayette St., Belle Vernon. Casey Clark from Off the Wall Arts will lead the group as they paint a lighthouse and enjoy chips and crackers. Cost: canvas, $35; or wood, $40, includes supplies and snacks. Reservations required. Health

• Laurelville Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host outdoor Sunset Yoga with Robin Albright Sundays July 10 and 17, Aug. 7, 14 and 28 atop Laurelville’s Sunset Hill. Library news

• Adams Memorial Library, 1112 Ligonier St., Latrobe, will offer a workshop to make an acrylic paint pour craft at 2, 4 and 6:30 p.m. July 19 outdoors at the library. Materials fee: $7. Paid reservations are required and you will be given a time slot. Reservations: stop in at the library.

Meetings

• South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. July 12 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave. There will be a pizza party, 50/50 raffle and prizes for children. Public welcome. Details: 724-984-6611.
