210 loud noise complaints were made over the 4th of July weekend in Dothan and Enterprise

DOTHAN/ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Over the Fourth of July weekend, the Dothan and Enterprise police departments received a total of 210 calls around complaints of loud noises.

The use of fireworks in the city limits of Dothan and Enterprise is illegal, however, Dothan police still received 161 loud noise complaints and 12 complaints of shots fired.

From this, Dothan police gave 100 verbal warnings, wrote 10 citations, and made 2 arrests involving these loud noise complaints from June 30th through July 4th.

Dothan police say that they did receive calls of people shooting into residences. But the number of calls was fewer than last year, where 1 out of every 12 of their calls involved fireworks.

Enterprise police say they responded to 49 noise complaints in total.
