RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) –Clouds will be on the increase later tonight as a weak cold front moves into the area from the Midwest.   This will serve to keep us warmer than last night with overnight lows in the lower 50s.

Tomorrow, we will have band of light showers come by during the morning hours.

Then as we move into the middle of the day the cloud will break, allowing us to warm into the lower 70s again.   Since the front will be passing through during the afternoon, I anticipate that there will be a few “pop up” showers in the area.

Overall, rainfall will generally be around 1/10th of an inch with some slightly higher amounts out of the west.

We will move into a cooler weather pattern for Thursday and Friday over us.  Skies will be partly cloudy overall, with maybe a little more sunshine for some of you.   Highs will be back in the 60s and it will be a little cool on Friday morning.

For the weekend, there will be an increase in clouds on Saturday over the area and the risk of a few showers.  This one is not set in stone yet, but the best chance is off to the west of us.  Right now this should not affect the Park2Park half marathon from Stuarts Draft to Waynesboro, but it needs to be watched.

Sunday, we will burst into the warm sector of the air over the nation’s Midwest, and that will send our highs up into the 80s to end the month.
