RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) –Well, after out soaking rain, a break in the weather is coming our way that that will allow for some nice weather for most of the Easter Weekend.
The skies will be clear overnight, and we will see our overnight lows falling into the mid to upper 30s over the region.
Friday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy through the day as highs warm back into the mid 60s.
It is going to be a breezy day with some wind gusts to around 25mph at times.
Saturday should be a very nice day for us with highs warming into the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies.
That should mean very comfortable weather for anyone attending the Easter Vigil on Saturday night.
Easter Sunday will be a very mild day over the region. We will start out with temperatures in the 50s at sunrise and then head up into the middle 70s by later in the afternoon.
It is late afternoon and evening when the forecast could get a little dicey over us. A front that will be stalled to the north of us (and bringing some showers to MD and PA on Saturday) will be dropping to the south towards us.
If you look at the fastest models, we get a chance of showers by the dinner hour. The vast majority of the models hold showers off until much later in the evening. So for right now for the NASCAR race on Sunday night, we will go with clouds and the possibility of rain threatening the end of the race.
The risk of showers will be with us on Monday followed by the chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm on Tuesday.
