Save the Children Head Start recruitment underway

Recruitment and registration is underway for the 2022-2023 school year with Save the Children Head Start and Early Head Start in Evangeline Parish. On Wednesday, June 29, a recruitment event was held at the Girls and Boys Place in Ville Platte. Several staff members were present to answer questions and assist new parents with the application process. Staff member Natasha Edwards said, “The turnout was awesome! We are grateful to the parents for coming out!”
Children, ages birth to five, are being accepted into the program. Interested parents may register their children by calling the office at 337-270-0710 to receive more information and make an appointment. Applications also will be taken in person at the Beech, Chataignier, Developmental and Mamou centers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Parents may begin the application process by clicking on the QR code on the flyer with their phones, which will take them directly to the online application, or visiting the Evangeline Parish Head Start Facebook page and following the link to the application.
To register your child, the following documentation will be required:
•age documentation
•immunization
record
•proof of income
•proof of residency
•medical card
