Auburn football fans are not pleased the Tigers lost out on Class of 2023 EDGE Keldric Faulk to Florida State. Faulk went on official visits to Auburn, Clemson, Florida, and Florida State, the four finalists during his ceremony at Highland Home High School on Tuesday afternoon.

The six-foot-five, 240-pound DL will now be joining a coaching staff led by Mike Norvell that has yet to gain any traction during two tough years down in Tallahassee in 2020 and 2021. The Seminoles have gone 8-13 the past two seasons since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faulk’s decision is one that took away from the goodwill that Phenix City product and 2023 4-star WR Karmello English’s commitment brought to the Auburn football program on Monday afternoon after his own recruitment decision.

Here were some Tiger fans’ reactions to the Faulk-Florida State news, with some optimism that this story hasn’t reached its final chapter, and others being fed up with the futility on the recruiting trail Auburn has often suffered from:

The Auburn football Class of 2023 needs reinforcements on defense

So far, the Tigers have landed four recruits for next year’s class, but only one of them plays on the point-prevention side of the ball. DB Terrance Love, the only out-of-state recruit Bryan Harsin and co. have reeled in thus far, is the lone defensive prospect calling the Plains home for the first time in 2023.

If Harsin is going to last beyond this season, improving upon last season’s 6-7 finish and capably filling out the roster beyond this current campaign is going to be the reason why. We already know that teams are recruiting against Auburn football using the Auburn Board of Trustees’ inquiry into the HC as ammunition.
