KENT COUNTY, MI – Sheriff’s detectives are investigating burglaries at two Cedar Springs marijuana dispensaries.
Police believe the break-ins are related.
Kent County sheriff’s deputies responded early Saturday, July 2, to a burglary alarm at Meds Café, a dispensary on White Creek Avenue NE. Other deputies, aware of a nearby dispensary, My Michiganja, headed to that shop on Main Street NE.
As police reached the scene, a deputy saw someone running from My Michiganja, get into a car and flee at high speed with lights off. A deputy pursued the fleeing car before losing sight of it.
Police said the burglaries were reported minutes apart.
My Michiganja posted a photo of the suspected burglars’ car on its Facebook page.
“Michiganja would like to thank everyone for their support and patience during the cleanup, we are so fortunate to have such a wonderful community,” the dispensary said.
Police said burglars broke doors to gain entry to the dispensaries.
