17-year-old shot and killed in north St. Louis on July 4

ST. LOUIS – A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in north St. Louis Monday afternoon.

The shooting was just before 4:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Union when an unknown person shot at a vehicle. Investigators said Makahyah Griffin, 17, a 61-year-old man, and a 41-year-old woman were in the vehicle. Griffin was the only one shot. They then drove to a firehouse in the 5200 block of Natural Bridge for medical assistance. Griffin was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he died.

Police have not yet released any suspect information. FOX 2 will continue to update this story with more information as it becomes available.
