One person is in critical condition after being pinned inside a vehicle from a crash Monday night.
Van Buren County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the 61000 block of 46th Avenue in Bangor Township on reports of a vehicle that crashed into a tree.
When first responders arrived, they found the vehicle failed to follow a curve in the road, left the road, and hit a tree head on.

The crash initially caused two people to be trapped inside the vehicle, according to deputies.
The driver, a 26-year-old from Illinois, was able to get out of the vehicle.
Hartford and Lawrence Fire Departments helped get the passenger, a 31-year-old Illinois man, out of the vehicle by cutting its door off.
Life-saving measures were performed on the passenger.

Both people were taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo for their injuries.
Currently, it's unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, according to deputies.
