Man arrested for arson after overnight fires in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
A man was arrested on complaints of arson following overnight fires.

Authorities said officers were dispatched to 1724 Pettee shortly before 6 a.m.
They said George Halsteid had broken a window and set fire to his mother's residence.
Police eventually located him behind 1700 Pettee and said he also set a fire to a couch on the back porch there.
The multi-duplex unit began fully engulfed in fire quickly.
Halsteid, 36, was taken into custody, and adjoining duplexes were evacuated.
Fire crews arrived and put the blaze out.
Halsteid will be booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
