The Montana Department of Transportation hopes to have access to the Beartooth Highway open from Red Lodge by the end of the month.

The state and Riverside Construction are working to fix massive washouts on Highway 212 south of Red Lodge.
Officials opened access to the Beartooth Pass on the Yellowstone National Park and Wyoming side, so anybody in the park can drive up to the Beartooth Ski Area, but then has to turn around. Travelers cannot go through to Red Lodge.
Yellowstone has reopened that 23-mile segment, so visitors can go up and see the views.
