Severe storms expected in Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin, including hail and wind up to 60 mph

Severe thunderstorms are possible in several Wisconsin counties Monday night, including Milwaukee, with strong winds and damaging hail expected some places.

As of 9:30 p.m., the National Weather Service indicated severe weather had been detected by issuing warnings for southwestern Waukesha County, southern Green County, southwestern Rock County, northeastern and southwestern Walworth County, southern Green County and southeastern Jefferson County.

Residents should be prepared for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail capable of damaging vehicles. High winds could also cause damage to roofs, siding and trees. 

Other counties were on a severe thunderstorm watch, meaning severe thunderstorms are possible and residents should be prepared. Heavy rainfall could cause flooding.

Milwaukee and the following counties are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 3 a.m.: Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha.
