Penn State is in the running along with Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Syracuse, and Texas A & M for Bertrand.
The 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive tackle out of Northeast High School has had 23 offers and is the No. 20 player in Pennsylvania, The No. 76 offensive tackle, and the No. 866 recruit nationally according to o 247Sprorts.
Bertrand was originally committed to Colorado in March but decommited on Monday as more offers came in.
Northeast offensive line coach Bubba Kemp in a conversation with PennLive.com made a comparison of Bertrand to a future Hall of Famer in his scouting report describing his assessment of him.
The (athleticism) is the first thing that jumps off the page with him” Kemp said. “He very athletic. You can see the movement skills and things like that. He reminds me a little bit of Jason Peters., and when you think about it, they have a similar situation.”
It is unknown when he will take his official visit, but it is assumed that it will be soon. If Bertrand were to commit, he would join Alex Birchmeier, J’ven Williams, and Anthony Donkoh in the offensive line room in the class of 2023.
