Ms. Ruth Stewart, age 83, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 3, 2022, at the Monroe County Medical Center. She was born in Monroe County on May 27, 1939, a daughter of the late Jessie and Della (Emmert) Stewart. Ruth was a housekeeper, and babysitter and enjoyed canning and gardening. She joined Beech Grove #2 Missionary Baptist Church by spiritual baptism on August 8, 1961.
She is survived by a brother, Hugh Tim Stewart of Tompkinsville. A host of nieces, and nephews; great nieces, and great nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; James Mitchell Stewart, William Dent Stewart, and one infant brother, six sisters; Lucy Elizabeth Arnett, Onie May Coffelt, Ora Stewart, Hallie B. Coffelt, Irene Stewart, Betty Lee Stewart, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. from The Beech Grove #2 Missionary Baptist Church, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. With interment to follow in the Mt. Poland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 7:00 until 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Mt. Poland Cemetery, or Beech Grove #2 Missionary Baptist Church.
